Hospital Chaplaincy Visiting Course at the George Eliot The chaplaincy team at the George Eliot Hospital are running a training course in pastoral care and hospital chaplaincy visiting for anyone who is interested in exploring this ministry. The course will run on Tuesday afternoons 2.30 – 4.00 p.m. in the chaplaincy centre, and will last for six weeks, starting on Tuesday September 12th. It will cover a range of things including listening skills, the role of hospital chaplaincy, and basic pastoral and spiritual care. At the end of the course, participants will be invited to apply to become a chaplaincy visitor if they feel would like to – at which point we will take up references and conduct interviews, to discern together if this is good for them to do. The course is open to people of any faith. Contact the chaplaincy team on 02476865046 to book a place or for more information.
