Prayer and Silence

Prayer is the beating heart of our church. Every Monday, Thursday and Friday at 8.45am the church staff meet to pray for the church, the community and the world. (On Tuesdays we’re at St Andrew’s Smorrall Lane, also at 8.45 am). You’re very welcome to join us.

All Saints Church is open every weekday morning from 9.30 to 12.00 so that anyone can slip in and pray or just enjoy the silence. People have prayed on this site for centuries – it makes it that bit easier to pray here ourselves.

On the first Thursday of each month, at 7.45 pm, we gather in the side chapel in church for ‘Praying Together’, a chance to relax, listen to God, experience prayer in a number of different ways, and bring our needs and requests before him. All are welcome, whatever their age or experience.

On Wednesday lunchtimes during Lent and Advent (the run-up to Easter and Christmas respectively) the church is often open for ‘Quiet Times’ – some gentle music interspersed with silence, and a visual focus to help you slow down and take time out with God.  Check the ‘News‘ page of this website for details.
